Pullela Gopichand (born 16 November 1973) is a former Indian badminton player. Presently, he is the Chief National Coach for the Indian Badminton team. All England Open Badminton Championships in 2001 was the tournament that changed his life completely and turns out to be the biggest achievement throughout, cause that instant was the one when he became the 2nd Indian to win this title.
The life goes on; it is very difficult for everyone to be consistent at what they are doing or to be always at the peak because changes are natural and though mandatory. In the same way it was also difficult for Pullela to play more so when he left playing badminton, he thought to do something different. And as we know when we are passionate enough about something we give our heart and soul into it, Gopichand is also one of this kind, he is always dedicated towards badminton that is why he decided to open a badminton academy under his name Gopichand Badminton academy in 2001. After that he also won various awards like he received the Dronacharya Award in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan – India's third highest civilian award – in 2014.He is the one who guided Saina Nehwal,P.V. Sindhu and P Kashyap to Olympic medals in the successive Games.
Most of the people say, studies are very necessary for every individual and marks are considered as the criteria for judging a person’s capability but Gopichand proved it all wrong as he was not good in studies and he is very thankful to god for that, otherwise if he was good he would have gone for the preparation for IIT exam and India would not have received such a gemstone. It is not always necessary to be studious but sometimes your passion, determination, hard work and dedication is also important. One might be intelligent enough to crack any exam and do the things which all are doing but the effort that they put is useless, in spite of that if people do the things in which they have interest the effort in doing that will be much more lesser. People always do regret for so many things but if we think positively in the same situation the things can be different, in fact totally different.
Success is no accident; it is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all love for what you are doing……
